5 Fires reported in Lmar County Sunday. Authorities are searching for an arsonist.

Walter Geiger and the Barnesville Herald Gazette report that Lamar County was hit hard again Sunday Night with vacant home firres.  Authorities are searching and asking the citizens for assistance in apprehending a serial arsonist. There were five more homes overnight Sunday.
Not all of the homes were destroyed but all were damaged.
The arsonist struck a mobile home on Hwy. 74 in Upson County that he had previously hit. “He went back to finish that one off,” sheriff Brad White said Monday morning.
Other Lamar homes where blazes were set were at:
260 Willis Rd.
433 Silver Dollar Rd.
403 Old Scout Rd.
The arsonist is also suspected in an overnight fire at a location in Culloden.
In most instances a small white truck was seen near the homes in the hours and days leading up to the fires.
WKEU would like to thank Walter Geiger and the Barnesville Herald Gazette for their great assistance in this news story. You can subscribe to the Herald Gazette on line at Barnesville.com
